Young Scientists Summer Program (YSSP): Short Visit Program 7189 views

IIASA’s annual 3-month Young Scientists Summer Program (YSSP) started in 1977. The Program offers research opportunities to talented young researchers (Perusing PhD) who are interested in the research areas addressed at the IIASA’s research center. The selected candidates work within the Institute’s research programs from June through August under the supervision of IIASA scientific team.

Commencing dates: The Program is conducted annually starting from 1 June – 31 August at Laxenburg, Austria

  6. Risk Policy and Vulnerability
  7. Advanced Systems Analysis
  8. Mitigation of Air Pollution and Greenhouse Gases

Flagship Projects Included:

  1. Tropical Futures Initiative
  2. Arctic Futures Initiative
  3. Challenges and Opportunities of Economic Integration within European and Eurasian Space

Note:

  1. The candidates are requested to indicate the flagship project of their interest for in the box provided in the application form (also mention the justification for your choice”)

Application Requirements?

  • PhD student (ideally about 2 years prior to receiving a PhD)
  • Your research field area is well-matched with ongoing research at IIASA
  • All students (from all nationalities) are invited to apply, although IIASA gives priority to citizens or residents of NMO countries.

Selection criteria for the Applicants:

  • The quality of the proposed research plan,
  • The corresponding background and skills of the applicant;
  • Two recommendation. letters
