Ph.D. Admissions Notification July 2015 CMR University invites applications for the full time/part-time Ph.D. Program under The School of Research end Innovation in the following Disciplines:
- Management, Economics, Commerce, Social Sciences (full time regular/part time external)
- Law, Education, Engineering & Technologg; Sciences, Humanities and Inter Disciplinary (Only part time externol).
Qualifications: For the Admission to Ph.D. in any of the above disciplines, applicants must fulfill the following criteria: The candidate shall have post graduation/masters degree from any recognized University in the state or any other University in India or abroad recognized by the Equivalence Committee of CMR University or by AIU, New Delhi. CMR University recognizes CA from The lnstitute of Chartered Accountants of lndia and CMA from The Institute of Cost Accountants of lndia for the purpose of registering for Ph.D in Commerce and Allied discipline.
- The candidate shall have minimum of 55o/o of marks in aggregate or equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) (except in engineering and management subjects). However, in the case of candidates belonging to SC and ST (and other reservation norms stipulated by the Government), the minimum marks required shall be 50 %.
- The minimum marks for admission in Engineering & Technology and Management disciplines shall be 60oh in aggregate or equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). However, in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST (and other reservation norrns stipulated by the Government), the minimum marks required shall be 55%.
The following category of candidates shall be exemptedfrom the Ph.D. entrance test:
- The candidates who have qualified UGC/CSIR.NET (JRF), SETiSLET, GATE or any other examination considered equivalent by AlU.
- Candidates possessing M. Phil Degree from a recognized University.
- The candidates qualified in the entrance test and the candidates exempted from the entrance test would be invited for the personal interview to be conducted by the Research Admission Committee. After the Personal Interview the shortlisted candidates shall be eligible to take admission to the Ph.D. program in the concerned subjects. The number of eandidates selected shall depend on the number of existing vacancies under different subjects and supervisors.

The duly completed application form along with supporting documents & Application Fee of Rs.l250l- in the form of cash or by a Demand Draft drawn in favor of “CMR University” payable at Bangalore should be sent to The Registrar, CMR Universiyt, City Campus, HRBR Layout, Kalyananagar, Bangalore-560043 or may be submitted in person to Admissions Office of CMR University, on or before May 30,2015.
