Postdoc in Food Science focus on structure-function properties of milk proteins USA

A Postdoctoral Scholar position on structure-function properties of milk proteins is available in the Food Science Department at The Pennsylvania State University (University Park). The main focus of this position will be to understand native structure-function properties of casein proteins from bovine and human milk as well as physicochemical factors leading to novel functionality in food and pharmaceutical applications.We are interested in the fundamental understanding of casein micelles throughout mammals and novel technological applications of poorly characterized milk components. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Biological Systems Engineering, Food Science, or related fields completed by start date. Desired qualifications include electron microscopy, rheology, and chromatography.

The successful applicant will have access to modern research laboratories as well as pilot plants for small scale production of various products Food Science Building, the Huck Institute of Life Sciences, and the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
