The LSU Department of Chemistry is advertising for a Postdoctoral Researcher position to conduct research in synthesis of peptide natural products under the supervision of Dr. Carol Taylor, Chair and Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Louisiana State University. 

The Postdoctoral Researcher will be a dedicated organic chemist, skilled in the execution of modern asymmetric synthesis, with a proven track record of leading projects and delivering on the synthesis of complex target molecules.  Research also involves rigorous characterization of compounds and active contributions to laboratory organization and maintenance is expected.

The successful applicant will work in a small team in LSU’s state-of-art Chemistry and Materials Building. 

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in organic chemistry or related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications: Expertise in peptide synthesis and cyclization reactions would be highly advantageous; experience of a range of reactions; experience with polar molecules and their purification and characterization.
