Research Scientist in Bioenergy: Anaerobic Digestion at DTU Environment. DTU Environmental Engineering Department invites applications for a position as research scientist in a project: “Biogas enhancement and upgrading via hydrogen assisted anaerobic digestion”. The research scientist will work with development of methods and technologies for utilization of hydrogen in order to enhance and upgrade biogas by CO2 fixation into methane.

Responsibilities and tasks

The candidates are expected to have research experience in anaerobic digestion process. The research scientist will be involved in national as well as international projects and is expected to participate in the development of new project proposals and to some extent in teaching. The candidate is expected to develop his/her own research portfolio and funding. Idea generation, fundraising, research impact and innovation are key performance indicators for the position. The candidate should have a goal-oriented approach and ability to work in large teams. Moreover, the candidate should be able to work independently.

As an integrated part of the job, the candidate is expected to contribute to teaching at MSc and PhD level, as well as to guidance and supervision of postdocs, PhD, MSc and BSc students. Contributing to the development of a good work atmosphere and a thriving environment is essential.

In the assessment of the candidates consideration will be given to scientific production and research potential at international level innovative skills and the ability to generate new ideas the ability to communicate at all levels such as the provision of scientific advice to public sector authorities experience in teaching and education an all-round experience basis, preferably including international experience the ability to contribute to development of the department’s internal and external cooperation.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union.

The position is temporary and the period of employment is 2 years.
