Postdoctoral position in Acute Myeloid Leukemia Research at Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Cancer Research. The ERC-funded group of Florian Grebien is looking for a motivated and experienced individual to work on functional studies on the transforming mechanisms of AML-inducing mutations.

Introduction: The genetic basis of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is highly complex. A better mechanistic understanding of the transforming mechanisms of distinct AML-inducing gene mutations will lead to the development of more effective targeted treatment options of AML patients.

The group of Florian Grebien is using a multidisciplinary approach consisting of proteomics, genomics as well as shRNA-/CRISPR-Cas9- and drug screening in advanced cell line- and mouse models of AML. By combining wet-lab- and bioinformatics approaches we constantly gain novel insights in the molecular basis of leukemia development (e.g. see Grebien et al, Nat Chem Biol, 2015, doi: 10.1038/nchembio.1859)

Our laboratory is embedded in the existing infrastructure of the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Cancer Research, located in the city center of Vienna. The wider network of the group is constituted by several close national and international collaborations.

Requirements / Qualifications: We are looking for a motivated researcher who holds a PhD (DVM, MD or equivalent) degree and has an outstanding track record in cancer research, cellular and molecular biology, genetics or immunology, as documented by relevant publications in the field. Previous work experience with proteomics- and/or NGS methods is a plus. The successful candidate is an individual thinker who is ambitious and self-driven. Excellent organizational skills and written and oral communication skills in English are required.

If you are a curious, flexible and social person who is interested to work in an interdisciplinary team you should look into this opportunity.

How to Apply: Please submit a letter of motivation, a detailed Curriculum Vitae including a publication list as well as reference letters and contact details of three suggested referees to Florian Grebien.
