Research subject description
Product Innovation comprises theories and methods for needs- and knowledge-driven development processes where physical products and services are linked.
Duties
The work duties include:
- Independent as well as collaborative research in product innovation within the scope of specific research projects (at least 80% of full time).
- Possibilities to teach and supervise at undergraduate and PhD levels in product innovation (at the most 20% of full time).
The research has a focus on experience sharing in engineering work, that contributes to the development of PSS (product service systems) and industrial service solutions, especially in knowledge intense development contexts. As post doc, you will be part of research projects, where a broad expertise in product development, innovation management and project work is expected. The research projects are conducted in close collaboration with regional and national industry, as well as with international researchers. As post doc, you are expected to identify and initiate new research projects within the defined area.
The post doctor position is a full time position spanning 1+1 years. The position is reviewed after 1 year and extended an additional year if satisfactory.
Qualifications
Qualification for an appointment to a post doctor position is a doctorate degree, or an equivalent foreign degree in product innovation, or the equivalent scientific or some other work-specific proficiency that is of importance with respect to the appointment’s subject content and the duties that are included. Priority will be given to applicants that have completed their PhD degree no earlier than seven years before the application deadline.
Assessment criteria
The applicants will be assessed and ranked according to their respective scientific merits and their documented experience within the listed research profile and requirements. Other assessment criteria include (weighted equally):
- Documented experience of research within experience sharing in engineering work, development of PSS (product service systems) and industrial service solutions, especially in knowledge intense development contexts.
- Demonstrated experience of teaching in the product innovation area
- Demonstrated experience of research with industry.
- Documented experience of innovation management.
- Documented broad competence in the product innovation field.
Documented good interpersonal and collaborative skills are required. Since the postdoc will teach both English and Swedish, Swedish is therefor required, and excellent communications skills in English are considered as a merit (written and oral), as is experience from collaboration with industry.
