Together with a strong background in scientific computing, he/she has proven experience in uncertainty quantification and is familiar with at least 3 of the following items: Probability theory & statistics; Polynomial chaos expansions; Gaussian process modelling (Kriging); Rare event simulation methods; Statistical learning methods (SVM)Global sensitivity analysis; High performance computing.

The candidate is familiar with developing scientific codes (object­oriented design) and has proven advanced Matlab programing skills.

Application details: Job description: The Chair of Risk, Safety and Uncertainty Quantification in Engineering, Institute of Structural Engineering (IBK), develops computational methods for managing the uncertainties in physical models used in various fields of engineering and applied sciences (civil & mechanical engineering and geosciences, among others). The Chair develops the Matlab­based platform UQLab, a new system that gathers state­of­the­art algorithms for uncertainty quantification.
