Postdoctoral position in Modern Structural Biology and X-ray Crystallography Portugal

The Macromolecular Crystallography Group from FCT (Universidade Nova de Lisboa, UNL) in Caparica is seeking a motivated researcher to work as a post-doctoral fellow, in the project “Modern Structural Biology: Resources for the advancement of in-house X-ray Crystallography”, Ref. RECI/BBB-BEP/0124/2012 financed by the Portuguese Science and Technology Foundation.

Work will be carried out in the Macromolecular Crystallography Lab (http://sites.fct.unl.pt/xtal) at FCT-UNL, Caparica (www.fct.unl.pt) at the research Unit UCIBIO (www.ucibio.pt).

The candidates should hold a PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field, and a strong experience in X-ray Crystallography.

The hired researcher will be involved in some of the Structural Biology projects running in the group (http://sites.fct.unl.pt/xtal/pages/research) but the possibility of developing own research is also encouraged. He/she will also be dedicated to the operation and management of the Lab’s X-ray diffractometers and associated equipment and shall give support to the small molecules’ structure solution service.
