Postgraduate Research Scholarship at The School of Chemical Engineering: The Pyrometallurgy Research Laboratory (PYROSEARCH) at The University of Queensland has an international reputation for the high quality of research output. We are seeking enthusiastic researchers interested in cutting edge research in the field of high temperature process metallurgy applied to primary metal production and recycling.

Several opportunities are available across a range of topics and reaction systems involving experimental phase equilibria studies, chemical thermodynamic modelling and slag viscosity modelling. These projects are to be undertaken in collaboration with leading  metallurgical companies.

UQ is a research intensive University ranked well within the top 100 universities in the world. UQ Engineering is listed at 39 in the  Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

The Pyrometallurgy Research Laboratory undertakes fundamental and applied research, funded through competitive Government grants and by industry partners world-wide. There are excellent opportunities to establish Australian and international industry contacts, and careers in high temperature metal processing and recycling. Applications are invited for the following positions in this active, growing, award-winning Research Laboratory.
