One PhD Position in Chemistry Available in the Group of Dr. Amit Kumar (Associate Professor, CNMS, Jain University). Applications are invited for one post of a Junior Research Fellow in a DSTsponsored research project in Discipline of Chemistry, Centre for Nano and Material Sciences (CNMS), Jain University Bangalore, Karnataka.
Qualification and Experience:
- MSc. in Chemistry, Candidate should have obtained at least 55% marks in qualifying degree examination
- Preference will be given to CSIRUGC NET (JRF/LS) or GATE qualified candidate.
- The ability to work closely and collaborate with colleagues is a must. Proficiency with the English language is required
Stipend: as per university rule.
The salary and appointment terms are consistent with the current rules for PhD degree students

How to reach CNMS: Take either city bus/auto rickshaw/taxi to Banashankari bus stop from Kempegouda Bus Station/Central Railway Station, Bangalore (45 min by city bus, 19 Rs or 30 min by auto, approx. 100 Rs). Board the bus heading towards Kanakapura either from Banashankari Bus Stop or from any other stops available off Kanakapura Road. Get down at Jain College Stop (around 45-55 mins from Banashankari Stop). Take your left once you entered into the Campus (main gate) or ask the Security to reach ‘Engineering Building’ and we are at level 4 of the same.
Project involves: It is planned to prepare and characterize of New Bioactive molecule and transition metal complexes with antitumor and antiparasitic activity, as well as antidiabetic activity (Vcompounds).The influence of the binding of therapeutic drugs to serum proteins on their transport by blood plasma and uptake by cells is well recognized.
