The Department of Psychology at Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) offers two positions as PhD Candidate in Work and organizational psychology or Human Factors.

Duration: 3 years

About the positions:

  • These positions are part of a larger project called “Immersive Visual Technologies for Safety-critical Applications” (ImmerSAFE).
  • The Immersafe project will include 15 PhD candidates in five countries (Finland, Croatia, Italy, Norway, and Sweden).
  • The PhD positions are open for all nationalities.
  • The recruited PhD candidates will interact extensively with the 14 partners in the project and the PhD candidates will do part of their research for up to 3 months at two of the partners.
  • The project is funded by EU, Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions, Innovative Training Network (ITN) Call H2020-2017.

Qualifications:

  • Applicant must have completed master’s degree in Work and organizational psychology or Human factors or education of equivalent type and level.
  • Applicants must have a strong academic record from their previous studies, and must have a weighted average grade for the last two years of their master’s or equivalent education (equivalent to 120 credits) of B or higher in terms of NTNU’s grading scale.
  • Applicants must be in the first four years (full-time equivalent research experience) of their research careers and not yet have been awarded a doctoral degree at the time of recruitment.
  • Applicant must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of their host organization (Norway) for more than a year in the 3 years immediately prior to the recruitment date.
  • Applicant must possess fluency in English (orally and written).

  • A specification of residency in the 3 years prior to the application deadline and a declaration that the applicant has not lived in Norway for more than 1 year for the last 3 years (cf. the H2020 MSCA Mobility Rule).
