Junior Research Officer (Research, Statistics & Analysis) at UPSC – Recruitment: Organization: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC)

Pay scale: PB-2 (Rs. 9300-34800/-) with Grade Pay of Rs. 4600/-. Level-7 in revised pay matrix

Educational requirements:

  1. Master’s Degree in Statistics or Operational Research or Mathematics or Applied Statistics or Applied Mathematics or Mathematical Statistics from a recognized University or Institute. OR
  2. Master’s Degree in Economics or Sociology or Psychology or Commerce with Statistics as one of the subjects at graduate level or Post Graduate level from a recognized university or equivalent

Experience requirements: Possessing Two (02) years’ experience of analysis of statistical data and their interpretation in Central Government or State Government or Universities or Recognized Training Institute

Job responsibilities / description:

  1. To assist senior officers in collection, compilation, tabulation, analysis and interpretation of statistical data.
  2. Managing and using of designed programmers and other software’s to prepare tables, charts and graphs which in turn are used for writing various statistical reports.
  3. Writing of various statistical reports.
  4. Conducting of various research studies as per the requirement from time to time.
  5. Supervision of updation of data into designed programs /computer systems and collection of data/records.
  6. Logical checking and verification/updating of date/records.
  7. Supervision of safe keeping of data/records.
  8. Periodical reviewing of old data/records.
  9. General Administrative work of the section and punctuality.
  10. Any other work assigned by the seniors from time to time
