Four (04) PhD Research Fellowships at the Department of Archaeology, History, Cultural Studies and Religion, available from 1 January 2018. The positions are for a fixed-term period of 4 years.

Qualifications and Qualities
- The applicants must hold a Norwegian master’s degree or the equivalent in a discipline that is relevant for the PhD project.
- A master’s degree (i.e. 3 years bachelor and 2 years master, 300 ECTS altogether) has been awarded at the time of application.
- The applicants must be able to work independently in a well-structured way and have good cooperation skills.
- In assessing the applications, both the academic quality of the project and the applicant’s qualification will be considered.

- Dissertation proposal (no more than 5 pages, not counting bibliography)
- A time schedule for the completion of your project
- A short summary of the master’s thesis (no more than 3 pages). If your master’s degree is not from a Norwegian university you may be asked to submit the full master’s thesis.
- Copies of higher education certificates and diplomas (scans)
- A list of any works of a scientific nature (publication list).
- Name and contact information of two referees. One of the referees must be the main supervisor of your master’s thesis or an equivalent thesis.
- A conformation letter from your main supervisor at the Department of Archaeology, History, Cultural Studies and Religion.
- The documents may be in Word or pdf-format.
- Copies of higher education certificates and diplomas must be accompanied by a translation into English, Norwegian, Swedish or Danish if not written in any of these languages.
