The Max Planck Unit for the Science of Pathogens is inviting application for a full time Biotechnologist/Engineer with excellent skills and knowledge in heading and managing the organization of a research laboratory. The unit is headed by director Prof. Emmanuelle Charpentier. The candidate is expected to be a highly qualified person with previous experience who is expected to ensure high-level operations of the laboratory work incl. lab management and purchasing, have experience in performing experimental work (biochemical assays, bacterial genetics, cell culture).

Requirements:
  • Applicant must hold Bachelor or engineer degree in natural or medical sciences or equivalent qualifications.
  • Applicant must have strong background in laboratory management and organization and in-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art molecular methods.
  • Applicant must possess fluency in English language.
  • Applicant must be capable of working independently and as part of an international team.
  • Applicant must be self-motivated and enthusiastic to work in a competitive, dynamic, stimulating and interacting international scientific environment focusing on basic biological research.

Duration: initially for two years; possibility of an extension after evaluation
