Carnegie-Cameron Grant

Carnegie-Cameron funds are awarded for the payment of tuition fees for 1 year full-time, or two year part-time, Master’s programs leading to a Degree offered by a Scottish university. Any PG degree course is eligible, other than an M.Phil or a similar program undertaken solely by research.

The maximum value of grant for 2016-17 is £4,000. If the course fees are under £4,000 the Trust will pay the lower fee amount.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

  • Scottish citizen by birth
  • Or be of Scottish roots (have at least one parent born in Scotland)
  • Or have received 3 full years of secondary, or higher education in Scotland
  • Candidates will be selected on the basis of their merit and potential and financial requirements.
  • The most important selection criteria must be those envisioned by Andrew Carnegie that the candidates are qualified and worthy, diligent and motivated, and that they would derive particular advantage from winning a postgraduate degree, which they would be unlikely to attend without the award.

Eligible Postgraduate Master’s Program:

  • The grant support Postgraduate studies that will improve student’s employability in their chosen field develop professional skills, or addition existing ones, thus bettering their career prospects.
  • While applying, applicants must have been accepted on a Postgraduate Degree program leading to qualification at Master’s level.
  • 1 year PG courses may be attended on a part-time basis over two consecutive years.

How to apply:

  • Applicants should first get an offer of a place for a PG taught Master’s program at the University of Strathclyde.
  • Applicants must then complete the application form and attach the following documents: grades transcript, Copy of birth certificate of applicant, Proof of residence for schooling, copy of Scottish Qualifications Authority for Standard Grades/Highers/HNC/HND, Copy of last three full bank statements for all accounts.
