ETH Zurich is offering scholarships to support excellent students who wish to pursue a Master’s degree at ETH. ETH is offering two scholarship programs namely,

  • the Excellence Scholarship & Opportunity Program (ESOP) and
  • the Master Scholarship Program (MSP)

Both the Excellence and the Master scholarships start when the student starts his or her Master’s degree and is awarded for the regular duration of the Master’s program (3 or 4 semesters).

Number of Scholarships: The number of annual scholarships depends on the availability of funds.

Open for: National and International Students

Scholarship details:

  • The Excellence Scholarship, ESOP, consists of:
    • a grant covering living and study expenses (CHF 11,000 per semester) and
    • a tuition fee waiver
  • The Master Scholarship, MSP, consists of:
    • a partial stipend for living and study expenses (CHF 6,000 per semester) and
    • a tuition fee waiver
  • The department can additionally provide a scholarship of CHF 1,500 – 3,000 per semester or offer an assistantship from the second semester onwards with a payment of CHF 600 per month.
  • The Master Scholarship Program requires a financial contribution from the scholarship holder too.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The program is open for students of all nationalities
  • The applicant must be excellent academically.
  • The prerequisite is a very good result in their Bachelor’s degree program.
  • The applying students must belong to the best 10 percent of their Bachelor’s program.

How to apply:

Applications portal will open from 1st Nov. 

The applicant can apply for either of the scholarships:

  • If only he/she at the same time, apply for a Master’s degree program at ETH Zurich
  • If he/she has been an ETH Bachelor student and continues with a consecutive Master’s degree program

Application Deadline: The application deadline for Master program is 15th December 2018
