GSSI: Gran Sasso Science Institute located in L’Aquila, Italy, offers postgraduate training to obtain PhD degrees.

Scholarship amount: € 16.159,91/ year (an additional 50% on monthly basis may be awarded for research period aboard if approved by the GSSI).

Duration of the Fellowship: 3 years

Starting date: 1st November 2018

Facilities and benefits:

  • This scholarship is tuition fees waiver
  • Free accommodation will be provided to all PhD students at the GSSI facilities or a financial substitute of 350,00 Euros gross/month .
  • Free luncheon vouchers to all PhD students will be provided (1/day, working days, except school closures, missions, other situations contemplated by the GSSI rules)
  • Insurance against any accident or injury will be given to all PhD students.

Requirements:

  • English proficiency is mandatory.
  • Applications are open to all candidates (without regard to nationality, age, gender or religion ) who meet the requirements below:
  • Italian degree: Four or five years degree according to the earlier rules of the Italian higher education system
  • Foreign degrees: the minimum duration of university studies is equivalent to four years (full time). If admitted, foreign degree holders are required to hand in a “Dichiarazione di valore”.
  • Applicants getting their degree by no later than October 31 2018 may apply (both Italian or foreign degree according to the earlier description).
  • Applicants will have to send a copy of their degree certificate at t phd.secretariat@gssi.it by November 20, 2018.

  4. Copy of a valid Identity Document (ID) signed and dated.
