Hearst Journalism Fellowship 794 views

Hearst, the diversified media, information and services companies offers the Fellowship program focusing on journalism in a changing digital world. The Fellowship program consists of two 12-month rotations at the top US metro papers.

Duration: 2 years

Requirements:

  • Applicant may be college graduates with interest, experience or background in journalism or related fields.

Selection process:

  • A panel of editors will review applications and select finalists.
  • Finalists will participate in a two-day interview process at the Houston Chronicle in April at which the Hearst Fellows will be selected.
  • Hearst Newspapers covers all domestic travel costs for the interviews.

Each completed digital package must contain the following:

  • CV (1 page) including academic major and minor, date or expected date of graduation; Permanent and current addresses; Email, website and social media addresses
  • 3 work/character references, including titles, email addresses and phone numbers
  • Hot links to digital work samples
  • Cover letter highlighting qualifications and making case for becoming a Hearst Fellow (2 pages)
  • 2 letters of recommendation to be submitted through the recruitment portal within application or emailed separately to fellowships@hearstnp.com
