International Travel Grant (Non-ICMR Scientists): Biomedical 4736 views

International Travel Grant Scheme provides monetary help for presenting research paper or chairing a session as also delivering a lecture or delivering a keynote address in an international scientific event (Conference/Seminar/Symposia/Workshops) to Non-ICMR Bio-medical Scientists. Grants are also provided to young scientists, nurses and paramedical staff for attending training programmes and short- term schools, workshops, courses on the basis of the priority areas (age limit 35 years as on date of Conference).

Grant Value:

  • Full excursion class air fare by shortest route; airport tax
  • Visa fees
  • Additionally registration fee to young scientists is provided

Eligibility:

To be eligible for the grant the applicant must be

  • Biomedical scientist engaged in Research & Development work.
  • Senior scientists over 35 years of age working in academic institutions and research laboratories are also eligible to apply only to international scientific events viz. Conference, Seminar, Symposium, Workshop which are not sponsored by International Council of Scientific Unions (ICSU).
  • Young scientists max 35 years as on date of conference are, however, considered for support even for ICSU sponsored events.
  • has an accepted paper for presentation or an invitation to Chair a Session with a lecture or as a Keynote Speaker
  • theme of the Conference, Seminar, Symposium or Workshop must be related to the major areas or activities of ICMR
  • have published research papers in indexed journals
  • not have received any other financial assistance from ICMR in the last 3 financial years
  • application must be sent through proper channel and must reach ICMR 2 months prior to the date of the Conference, Seminar, Symposium or Workshop
  • Letter of acceptance, sanction received late, also must be submitted at least three weeks before the event
  • Special waiver for Chairpersons, Keynote Speakers (if their applications are submitted within one week of receiving the invitation for the programme).
  • waiver for young scientists also could be considered in case of specific awards of registration, accommodation and any other outstanding category and application must be submitted within 1 week after receipt of the notification

Applications:

  • The application complete in all respects together with attachments must reach ICMR at least 2 months before the commencement of the event.
