Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and Macquarie University (Australia) offers Joint PhD Project position in “Modeling and Utilizing the Nervous System for Stimulation and Intra-body Communications”. The project is in association with the Oslo University Hospital, Norway.

Applicant must be self-motivated, highly qualified doctoral students with solid analytic background and interest in communications and networks. This is an exciting international opportunity for a candidate with (or expecting) a MEng or an MSc with Ist Class Honours in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or related areas.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants with Ist class degree equivalent to MEng or Master by research or coursework in Telecommunications, with Ist Class Honours in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Telecommunication or related areas with strong background in mathematics and interest in biology/neuroscience.
  • Applicant must have previously published papers in reputable international conferences or journals
  • Applicant must able to communicate effectively in English language and is capable of technical writing in English.

 Duration:

  • 3 years (36 months)
  • Time will be divided into at both Universities; at Wireless Communications and Networking Laboratory at Department of Engineering at Macquarie University in Sydney (Australia) and at the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Norway).
  • That means the applicant will have equal number of months of stay up to 18 at Macquarie University and at NTNU, respectively.

 Shortlisted candidates will be selected for interviews in person or via Skype.

The Macquarie University PhD stipend and NTNU Fellowship are only paid while on Campus at the respective institution.
