Postdoc: MOCVD Growth and Photonics (MIND), IBM 1981 views

Postdoctoral research positions are available to work in the Materials Integration and Nanoscale Devices (MIND) Switzerland.

Post-Doc researcher: III–V MOCVD growth and photonics

Ref. 2017-18

Funding: The project will be carried out in the framework of a FETOPEN project under H2020.

Research Overview:

  1. The research comprises the epitaxial growth as well as the detailed characterisation of the structure and optical and electrical properties of nanoscale photonic devices, ranging from photovoltaics to lasers.
  2. The work involves nanofabrication cleanroom facility along with the selective growth of nanostructures using (MOCVD) and development of different doping strategies.
  3. The crystalline & optical quality of the material will be investigated using, e.g., scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and optical spectroscopy.
  4. Additionally, electrical transport measurements of pn-junctions and heterostructures for photovoltaics will be done, along with various optical characterizations.
