Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) invites applications for the Post of Junior Scientific Officer in Biology (Vacancy: 18081502211). The positions are available under Ministry of Home Affairs, Central Forensic Science Laboratory.

Remuneration:  Level – 7 (Rs.44900-142400/-) in Pay Matrix as per CCS (RP) Rules, 2016 Pre revised pay scale PB – 2 Rs.9,300-34,800/- with Grade Pay Rs. 4,600/-. Total emoluments excluding T.A. and HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs. 44,900/- plus D.A. as admissible p.m. approximately.

Age limit: applicant must not exceeding 30 years of age for General category candidate as on normal closing date and not exceeding 33 years for Other Backward Class candidates.

Essential Qualifications:      

  • Applicant must hold Master’s Degree in Botany / Zoology / Microbiology / Biotechnology with Botany or Zoology as one of the subjects at Bachelor of Science level/Biochemistry with Botany or Zoology as one of the subjects at Bachelor of Science level / Physical Anthropology with Botany or Zoology as one of the subjects at Bachelor of Science level/Forensic Science with Botany or Zoology as one of the subjects at Bachelor of Science level/ Genetics with Botany or Zoology as one of the subjects at Bachelor of Science level from a recognized University or equivalent.
  • 2 years’ experience of Analytical method and research therein in the field of Biology.
