PhD Studentship is available at Robust Metallosupramolecular Cages for Biomedical and Catalytic Applications with Dr Paul Lusby, School of Chemistry, University of Edinburgh Applications are invited for a PhD studentship within the Lusby group to develop supramolecular cages for a range of applications, from biomedicine to catalysis.
Supramolecular cages and capsules have shown certain promise in these areas, although major breakthroughs, particularly in the biological field have been somewhat hampered by the stability of such systems under a wide range of conditions. This studentship will build on recently published research to come out of the Lusby group (Chem Sci. 2015, 6, 756-760), where we have used an assembly-followed-by-fixing method to create robust capsules that exhibit novel host-guest chemistry.
