Research Fellow in Chemical Biology

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with experience in chemical biology, biological chemistry, or bioorganic chemistry to work at the chemistry/biology interface. The post is funded by the Wellcome Trust and aims to identify and validate the therapeutic target in the multidrug resistant Staphylococcus aureus. The project is highly multidisciplinary involving multistep organic synthesis of potential inhibitors, molecular biology and screening of large scale compound library. Excellent communication skills are required as the project involves international collaboration.

Candidates must hold a PhD or equivalent in chemistry or a related discipline, and have a strong background in chemical biology, biological or bioorganic chemistry with a good amount of experience in organic synthesis, molecular biology, protein expression and purification, kinetics of enzymes and their inhibition, and protein crystallography.

This appointment is funded initially for 1 year and may be extended for another year.
