Postdoc in Algorithms for Compressed Computation at DTU Compute. DTU compute would like to invite applications for an 18 month postdoc position starting September 1, 2015. The project is financed by the Compressed Computation on Highly-Repetitive Data (CCHRD) project, funded by the Sapere Aude program under the Danish National Research Council.

Responsibilities and tasks

The postdoc position is in algorithms and focuses on techniques to perform computation directly on compressed highly-repetitive data without decompressing it first. The main task in the project is designing new algorithmic techniques for combinatorial pattern matching for central indexing and searching problems. The applicant will be part of the team of researchers and external partners within the CCHRD project. (www2.compute.dtu.dk/~phbi/cchrd.html).

Qualifications
Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent. Preference will be given to candidates who can document research in the area, strong potential for research in the area, or other relevant experience in the area.

Salary and terms of employment

The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union. The period of employment is 18 months.
