Postdoctoral Scientist (f/m) specialized in physics/ electrical engineering/ materials science or renewable energy (Reference No. EE 2015/13). PVcomB develops high efficiency wafer-based amorphous/crystalline silicon (a-Sie:H/c-Si) heterojunction solar cells with conversion efficiencies exceeding 20%. Its focus is on industrially relevant processes and materials as well as on scaling of promising new concepts to production-relevant wafer (cell) size. It has a close cooperation with the partner institute EE-IS, focusing on new materials and concepts and also using the new EMIL facility at HZB’s BESSY synchrotron.
Job description:
- Process integration for industry-relevant Si heterojunction solar cells at the PVcomB
- Basic wet-chemical processes for texturing and cleaning wafers
- Deposition of highly transparent TCO and application of metal contact grids by screen printing and ink-jet methods for double-side and back-side contacting schemes
- Contribution to national and international R&D projects on silicon-based photovoltaics
- Scientific publications, presentation, reports, supervision of PhD and M.Sc. students
Your qualification:
- Comprehensive background in technology and physics of semiconductor devices and/or solar cells with a focus on silicon-wafer-based technology
- Broad experience in thin-film and solar cell processing
