At the Department of Science and Technology, at the university’s Norrköping Campus, we provide education and conduct research in physics and electronics, communications/logistics and mediaL and information technology. At the Laboratory of Organic Electronics (LOE), we focus on the study and application of electronically and ionically conducting organic materials in an array of areas spanning energy harvesting, printed electronics, photonics, and bioelectronics.
During the past few years, we have investigated nanofiber cellulose (NFC) and its combinations with various organic electronic materials, as a substrate material and functional material for organic electronics and printed electronics. The scholarship is aimed at continuing this research, which will provide the postdoctoral scientist the opportunity to learn:
- Experimental techniques to incorporate organic electronics into nanocelluloseLbased substrates
- Techniques to pattern organic electronic materials in order to create components, e.g. transistors
- Printing and other manufacturing techniques for printed electronics
- Theory and practice of electrical characterization methods for measuring the performance of various kinds of organic electronic transistors
- Studies and research will be conducted in close collaboration with several partners including the research and development institute Acreo Swedish ICT AB, the research institute Innventia AB, and KTH.
Duties
This scholarship will primarily focus on research and personal development within the field of organic electronics. The postdoc will investigate manufacturing methods and patterning methods for NFCL based conducting and semiconducting paper. The research will include functionalized paper as well as devices and circuits based on such paper. Research will be primarily of experimental character, including lab scale manufacturing as well as electrical and materials characterization.
Qualifications
The position requires a doctorate or an equivalent degree from a foreign university. The doctorate shall have been obtained no longer than three years before the expiration date of the application.
A degree in a field related to printed and/or organic electronics (physics, chemistry, materials science, electronics, etc) will be favored. Experience in multidisciplinary research projects will also be valued. Research at the Laboratory of Organic Electronics is carried out predominantly in English, so relative fluency is favorable.

This scholarship provides a taxLfree stipend of 25 000 SEK/month, plus limited funds for travel to/from Sweden at the beginning/end of the appointment.
