Dahlem Research School: 5 HONORS Fellowships 1922 views

Dahlem Research School (DRS) is inviting applications for the HONORS fellowships. The fellowships are aimed at candidates who have submitted their doctoral thesis in one of the DRS doctoral programs. Candidates are expected to propose an independently developed research project that will be supported by their prospective scientific advisors at Freie Universität Berlin. Applications that involve collaborative research with existing or potential partner institutions are strongly encouraged.

Number of fellowships: 5 post-doctoral HONORS fellowships

Eligibility:

  • Applicant must be a member of one of the doctoral programs of Dahlem Research School and they have submitted their dissertation; if the dissertation has already been defended, the date of the defense must lie within 6 months of the application deadline.
  • Applicant must have completed the doctoral studies within 3.5 years (time between begin of studies and submission of dissertation).
  • In exceptional circumstances only duration of up to 4.5 years may be accepted.
  • Applicant’s supervisor must provide a reference letter in which the quality of the dissertation is evaluated.
  • Applicant must have support of a professor of Freie Universität Berlin who agrees to act as scientific advisor during the time of the fellowship.
  • Applicant develop and propose an interdisciplinary and innovative research project

  • Data to be entered online: Personal data; Motivation Letter; CV; Academic Profile; Proposed Research Project (working title and abstract)

Required Documents

  • Project proposal (max. of 5 A4 pages) including the following points:
  • Proof of submission of the PhD thesis or proof of defense of the doctoral thesis
  • Degree certificate (with certified translation)
  • List of publications, presentations, prizes and awards
  • Reference Letter (by supervisor of the doctoral thesis evaluating)

Benefits

  • Stipend (base) amount: 1,750 €/month
  • Research contribution: 103 €/month
  • Child allowance: For the Ist child: 400 €/month and for each additional child 100 €/month
