The European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow as Computational Biologist. The positions is available with the Bork group, offering two positions for the analysis of large-scale microbiomics data (metagenomics, metatranscriptomics, metabolomics etc.) for biological discoveries by data integration. Data will mostly come from various internal and external human microbiome projects, but some also from ocean and soil.
Qualifications and Experience
- Applicant must hold PhD in a relevant field and are expected to have a sufficient background in both biology and bioinformatics
- Applicant must possess profound knowledge in statistics.
- The positions require experience in scripting and the analysis of biological data, preferably in the areas where the Bork group is active in.
- For some projects, some experimental experience in microbiology is also valuable.
- The ability to work in a team is essential as EMBL offers a multicultural & interdisciplinary environment.
