Staff or Senior Scientist in Experimental Nanotechnology at the Department of Applied Physics, Aalto University’s School of Science and Aalto Nanofab.

Overview

Staff/Senior Scientist will be responsible for supporting the research of the experimental physics research groups in the abovementioned research infrastructures, especially in maintenance and development tasks related to advanced nanolithography, particularly electron beam lithography andvacuum deposition systems. In addition, the employment involves maintenance and repair of the dilution cryostats including vacuum and gas handling systems at Micronova.

The selected candidate will also provide user support (both training and development of special experimental setups) for the related research infrastructure. Scientist will also participate through a supporting role in research and doctoral education. Candidate will also support the research groups in the procurement, development and maintenance of laboratory equipment.

Requirements

The required qualification of the applicants

  1. Doctoral degree in physics or other applicable research field
  2. Experience in experimental nanotechnology and in working in cleanroom environments
  3. Theoretical knowledge and profound practical experience in the use of advanced electron beam lithography tools
  4. Experience in maintenance and development of research infrastructures; and
  5. Fluency in both spoken and written English.
