PhD position in History: Engaging Vulnerability (EV) Research Program 1192 views

The Department of History at Uppsala University is a dynamic research environment, with a particular emphasis on early modern history, gender history, global history, digital humanities, history of racism, antisemitism and the Holocaust.

About the position:
  • The department now announces one fully funded PhD position where the holder will be an active member of the Engaging Vulnerability (EV) research program.
  • Successful candidates will pursue their doctoral studies full-time in Uppsala and are expected to participate actively in weekly seminars and workshops, etc. at the department and within the research programme.
  • The position is a 4-year full-time employment.

Starting date: 01-09-2020 or as otherwise agreed.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must have a Master’s Degree in the Humanities or Social Sciences relevant to research in history.
  • Applicants from all countries are encouraged to apply.
  • Seminars are in both Swedish and English and some compulsory courses are given in Swedish.

  • A copy of MA thesis
  • A statement (of no more than 6 pages) outlining proposed research (forskningsplan).
  • An authorized copy of your Master’s degree and course grades (if the degree was taken at a Swedish university, a LADOK extract will suffice)
  • A copy of your BA thesis (if available)
  • An account of how long it took candidate to complete your MA thesis.
