H Walter Stern PhD studentship at The Department of Chemical Engineering, University College London (UCL) is in quest of an extraordinary graduate student to be the first recipient of the prestigious Stern Scholarship. Projects are extensive and range from fuel cells to self-healing materials, membranes and fluidised beds. Duration of Studentship is 3 years.
The scholarship aims to provide one new research students every year with the unique opportunity to work within their chosen research field to take up a PhD program at a world class research institution. The successful candidate will receive full tuition fees (UK, EU or Overseas), a substantial stipend and a research consumables fund for up to 3 years.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Candidate must have or be expected to get a First Class Honors degree in chemical engineering/chemistry/materials science/physics or an associated discipline.
- The aptitude to work in an interdisciplinary environment that challenges questions across various fields of Chemical Engineering is expected.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, good time-management, outstanding attention to detail and the ability to work in a team are essential.
