AgreenSkills+ :International Postdoc Mobility Programmes

AgreenSkills+  is offering opportunities to young experienced and independent researchers holding a PhD with 0 to 10 years’ postdoctoral research experience. Career breaks are not included.

AgreenSkills (2012-2016) and AgreenSkills+ (2014-2019) are international postdoc mobility programmes coordinated by INRA, in collaboration with Agreenium, the French national higher education and research consortium. They are designed to increase the research potential and career prospective of researchers to better respond to the current and future challenges in the fields of agriculture, food, nutrition and environment.

There are no special requirements as concerns nationality, gender or country of origin. The main aim of those programmes is to attract the best young and experienced researchers from around the world.

Eligibility Criteria

Incoming researchers (applying to one of Agreenium-IAVFF  hosting laboratories in France) must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

  1. Hold a PhD (or PhD will have been awarded by mobility start date);
  2. Have less than 10 years’ research experience after their PhD;
  3. Not have spent more than 12 months in France within the last 3 years immediately prior to the expected date of recruitment;
  4. Be able to write and speak fluent English or French;
  5. Have at least 1 publication in an inter-disciplinary or specialised peer-reviewed journal;
  6. Have 1 publication in an inter-disciplinary or specialised peer-reviewed journal per 2 years of post-doctorate period (patents count as publications) taking into account any non-research career breaks;
  7. Propose a research project that is relevant to AgreenSkills’ fields of interest and that is compliant with the opinion 24 of the European Group of Ethics in Science and New Technologies.

Tenure: 12 months to a maximum of 36 months.

Outgoing researchers (employees of one of the Agreenium-IAVFF members applying in research units of universities or research centres out of France) must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

  1. Be a researcher working for an Agreenium-IAVFF member organization, with an employment contract in effect during the entire duration of the mobility period;
  2. Hold a PhD (or PhD will have been awarded by mobility start date);
  3. Have less than 10 years’ research experience after their PhD;
  1. Have spent at least 2 years in France within the last 3 years immediately prior to the expected date of mobility;
  2. Be able to write and speak fluent English or French;
  3. Have at least 1 publication in an inter-disciplinary or specialised peer-reviewed journal;
  4. Have 1 publication in an inter-disciplinary or specialised peer-reviewed journal per 2 years of post-doctorate period (patents count as publications) taking into account any non-research career breaks;
  5. Propose a research project that is compliant with the opinion 24 of the European Group of Ethics in Science and New Technologies.

Tenure: 6 months to a maximum of 24 months. An additional 6 month return period in Europe is mandatory.

There are 3 main steps

1.2.     Complete an online form to assess your eligibility to the programme.

2.    Find a hosting lab that matches your research interests

  1. Incoming eligible candidatescan then start contacting labs within  Agreenium-IAVFF member organizations  that complement their research interests. Lab proposals are also available to eligible candidates on the AgreenSkills’ web portal.
  2. Outgoing eligible candidatescan contact any laboratory outside of France that matches their research interests to discuss the AgreenSkills’ mobility programme and potential postdoctoral positions.

3.    Prepare and submit a complete application online.

3.1.  Finalise a research project proposal in relation with the hosting lab you have targeted and an identified scientific mentor in this lab.

3.2.  Fill in all documents requested for an application

3.3.   Submit your proposal online before the submission deadline
