10 PhD/Postdoc researchers: Machine and Deep Learning 3486 views

University of Amsterdam in association with Bosch (a multinational engineering and electronics company) invites application for 10 PhD or Postdoc research positions. The projects will be led by Prof. Max Welling (machine learning), Prof. Arnold Smeulders (computer vision).

Salary: €2,191 to €4,691 gross per month

1. Methods for Semi-supervised Learning and Active Labeling
2. Methods for Robust Feature Learning
3. Calibrated Uncertainty Estimation
4. Methods for Multimodal Learning and Sensor Fusion
5. Combining Generative Probabilistic Models with Deep Learning
6. Model Compression and Distillation
7. Reinforcement Learning and Planning
8. Learning color-invariant bases
9. Learning to follow objects over multiple cameras
10. Learning from images near the boundary of a class

Requirements:

For PhD positions:

• Applicant must hold Master degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Physics or related field.
• Applicant must possess excellent programming skills (the project is in Matlab, Python and C/C++)
• Applicant must have strong mathematics foundations, statistics, calculus and linear algebra;
• Applicant must be highly motivated, fluent in English (both written and spoken)
• Applicant must have evident experience with machine learning / computer vision.

For Postdoc researchers

• Applicant must hold Doctoral degree in machine learning, computer vision or related field
• Applicant must have excellent publication record in top-tier international conferences and/or journals;
• Applicant must possess strong programming skills (python, Theono, Torch, Tensorflow, C/C++)
• Applicant must be motivated and capable to coordinate and supervise research.
