The Department of Psychology at the University of Oslo has two available positions as PhD Fellow in Developmental Psychology.

About the project:
  • The PhD fellows will work within the project “The Development of Understanding of Insight and Aha-experiences”, funded by the FRIPRO-program of the Norwegian Research Council.
  • Each fellow will be responsible for the implementation of one of the subprojects.
  • The project is led by Professor Rolf Reber in collaboration with Professor Francisco Pons and Associate Professor Evalill Bølstad Karevold.

Duration: up to 4 years

Qualification:

  • Applicants must hold a two-year master degree or equivalent degree in developmental psychology or an adjacent field (e.g., social, cognitive, or educational psychology; education) with a thesis applying quantitative methods. The grade of the master thesis (minimum 30 ECTS) must be minimum grade B.
  • Plans for high-quality research within the project, as evidenced by the one- to three-page proposal to implement the project
  • Knowledge of experimental design and statistical methods is required
  • Scientific publications, conference presentations and experience as research assistant, especially within developmental psychology are an advantage
  • Teaching experience is an advantage
  • Fluent oral and written communication skills in English are required
  • Working knowledge of a Scandinavian language, preferably Norwegian is required.
