2-year Postdoc position in Environmental Psychology 1111 views

The Department of Psychology at University of Science and Technology (NTNU) has a vacancy for a two-year postdoc position without teaching duties in the research group for “Citizens, Environment, and Safety”. The position is financed by the group’s collaboration in two interdisciplinary research projects funded by the Research Council of Norway.

Role and responsibilities:

The main duties of the postdoc researcher will be split between the two projects and will include:

  • Design, implementation, and analysis of larger scale quantitative surveys in both projects
  • Data curation and management (incl. support of data protection management and GDPR) in both projects
  • Writing scientific project publications and contributing to popular science publications and dissemination in both projects
  • Conference presentations of the project results from both projects
  • Representing the research group in project meetings of both projects
  • A study of truck drivers’ behaviour with eye-tracking glasses in DRIVERS

Qualification:

  • Applicant must hold doctoral degree in Psychology or a closely related neighbouring behavioural science discipline or corresponding foreign doctoral degree recognized as equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree in such a discipline is required.
  • Excellent and documented experience with quantitative empirical research (preferably in the field) is mandatory
  • Experience with quantitative analysis methods are mandatory, including mastery of a statistics suite such as R, STATA, SPSS, or the like
  • Publication experience in from international journals is mandatory
  • Good written and oral English skills are mandatory
  • A theoretical background in environmental psychology, social psychology, risk psychology, traffic psychology, or related disciplines will be considered a strong advantage
  • Experience with eye-tracking research is considered an advantage
  • Experience with large surveys is considered an advantage
  • Norwegian language skills are not mandatory but will be of advantage in implementing empirical research in the field in Norway
