The University of Oslo (UiO) is offering 3-4 PhD Fellowships in Law available at The Faculty of Law. The objective of the fellowship is research training leading to the successful completion of a PhD degree.

About the positions:
  • Duration is up to 4 years, with 25 % compulsory teaching duties. Alternatively, the candidate may apply for a 3-year fellowship without any teaching duties.
  • The successful candidates with a 4-year fellowship period are expected to offer teaching in subjects as needed by the faculty.
  • The fellowship period may be reduced if the PhD candidate has previously been employed in a research fellowship position.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must hold a 5 year’s Norwegian master’s degree in law or its equivalent.
  • Other qualifications at the same level may be accepted, based on individual assessment, if the qualification in question is relevant to the completion of a project in law.
  • Applicant should have a result of a high standard. The same applies to the master’s thesis.
  • Applicants are required to submit a 5-10 page PhD project description outlining the research topic, choice of theory and research method, and a progress plan

  • Applicants holding a degree from a non-Norwegian institution must include an explanation of their university’s grading system.
  • Up to 3 scholarly publications.
