Radboud University invites applications for 3 PhD positions in ITN Project M-GATE (Memory Research) at Faculty of Science.

Remunerations: € 2,840 gross/month

Duration: initially 18 months; may be extended by 2.5 years (after evaluation)

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • perform electrophysiological recordings and optogenetic manipulations in freely moving rodents and rodents behaving in a virtual reality setting
  • train animals to perform behavioural tasks
  • develop novel experimental setups
  • perform sophisticated analyses of neurophysiological and behavioural data
  • collaborate with other European laboratories in the M-GATE network

Requirements:

  • Applicant must be highly motivated young scientist with a multidisciplinary background
  • Applicant must hold excellent Master’s degree in Neuroscience, Biology or exact sciences.
  • Applicant must abide the EC’s mobility rule, have not lived/studied/worked in the Netherlands for more than a year in the past three years.
  • Applicant must have good background in computational science and programming.
  • Applicant must be keen to spend four years in advancing your career in a joint academia-industry context at the European level.
  • Applicant must speak and write English fluently.
