4PHOTON strongly believe that Quantum Information Technology (QIT) will be the major disruptive technology in the near future. 4PHOTON outcomes directly impact on the viability of QIT by providing fundamental know-how and trained researcher to this expanding and disruptive field. This four year network (starting in January 2017) brings together an exceptionally strong team of world-leading experts in nano-science and technology from 6 European countries in order to achieve breakthroughs in understanding and successful utilization of photonic based nano-systems in emerging quantum technologies.

The training will be provided by world class research and industry institutions from Italy, UK, Germany, France, Switzerland, Netherlands.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must be Early Stage Researchers (ESRs); must be first four years (full-time equivalent) of their research careers.
  • Applicants must not already hold a PhD
  • Applications are invited from scholars of any nationality.
  • Applicants would be required to undertake physical, transnational mobility: they must not have stayed or carried out his/her main activity in the country of the host institute for more than a year in the last three years immediately prior to the reference recruitment date (researchers with refugee status will benefit from a less restrictive mobility rule)
  • Applicants must have the background and expertise required for the position
  • Applicants must be proficient in English (both written and spoken).

Scholarship value:

  • living allowance: €3,110 per month (€37,320/year)
  • mobility allowance: €600 per month
  • family allowance (if any): €500 per month

Duration: maximum of 36 months.
