The Confirm Smart Manufacturing Research Centre at University College Cork is inviting applications for 7 PhD positions. The Confirm Smart Manufacturing SFI Research Centre is a consortium led by University of Limerick including the Tyndall National Institute, University College Cork, Cork Institute of Technology, National University of Ireland Galway, Athlone Institute of Technology, Maynooth University and Limerick Institute of Technology. Studentships are open immediately for application, to pursue research within the overall scope of the Confirm Centre.
Requirements:
- Applicants should hold honours’ undergraduate or Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, data analytics, industrial mathematics, statistics, or other relevant research areas.
- Applicants must be able to demonstrate an interest in both theoretical and software engineering skills, with a keen interest in algorithms, artificial intelligence, and related areas.
- Candidates with knowledge of constraint programming, operations research, machine learning, wireless sensors and artificial intelligence would have advantage.
Remuneration: €18,500 per annum for up to four years and an annual contribution of €5,500 towards tuition fees. Non EU candidates may apply but they will need to cover extra fees themselves.
Starting date: Studentships start from January 2019 – to October 2019
