The new Allianz Climate Risk Research Award is open for all new international students.
The Allianz Climate Risk Research Award supports scientific research that improves understanding of climate change-related risks.

Subject Area: “Climate risk: real-time information and new technologies.”
Scholarship Value: there would be 4 finalists in total. They would receive the the award as follows:
- Monetary award:
- EUR 7.000 First finalist
- EUR 5.000 Second finalist
- EUR 3.000 Third finalist
- EUR 2.000 Fourth finalist
- Invitation for a one-day Award event in Munich with all costs covered
- Exposure of the finalists’ research projects on the website allianz.com
- Exclusive insights into the insurance industry’s work on climate change and extreme weather events
- Participation in a discussion round with the Award’s jury, experts and other guests from Allianz Group and academia.
Nationality: International students are eligible to apply
Eligibility Criteria: the applicant must:
- Be an individual author
- Submit only one research paper
- Be a PhD student, or postdoctoral researcher
- Recent PhD graduates and postdoctoral graduates can also apply. However, the recent graduates can apply only if to obtain title there is not more than 2 years at the time of the application.
- If the applicant is selected as a finalist one must attend the Award Event in Munich and present his/her work in person.
- Evidence of proficiency in English would be required from candidates whose first language is not English
