The Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD) Hyderabad, an autonomous R & D Institute under the Societies Act funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India has an opening on Direct Recruitment basis as Scientist – II (VETERINARIAN) (1 Post, UR)

About the position:
  • The Scientist – II (Veterinarian) will be responsible for the management and operation of the CDFD Experimental Animal Facility and Animal Biosafety Laboratory (ABSL-3).
  • The job responsibilities include breeding, management, husbandry of genetically defined and mutant laboratory animals, as well as their supply for experiments, facilitating experiments on animals including conduct of procedures / surgeries on animals etc., Handling documentation and duties related to import of animals, and approval of projects by the Institutional Animal Ethics Committee, amongst others, etc.

Remuneration: Basic Pay 56,100/- in the revised pay scale of Pay Matrix Level – 10 (Pre-revised Pay Scale of 15600-39100 Plus GP 5400/- in PB-3) plus Non-Practising Allowance (NPA) (20% of Basic Pay)

Qualifications and Experience:

  • M.VSc. or equivalent with three years’ experience OR BVSc or equivalent with four years’ experience with valid Registration with Veterinary Council of India.
  • M.VSc. in any of the following disciplines, viz. Veterinary Medicine, Genetics and Breeding, or Microbiology.
  • Experience in management of a laboratory animal facility at a research institute or its equivalent.
  • Age Limit: Not exceeding 35 years.
  • Applicant must be a citizen of India.
