Centre for Marine Living Resources and Ecology (CMLRE) undertake research activities in the areas of marine living resources and ecology including the ecosystem processes for the development of ecosystem management strategies towards sustainable utilization of resources.

Project Scientist ‘C’

Number of places: 05

Monthly emoluments: approx.Rs.49000/-

Age limit: 40 years

Essential Qualification:

  • MSc. in any Natural Science/Earth Sciences/ Oceanography/ Marine Sciences/Fisheries/ or any branch of Physics, Chemistry and Biology or equivalent or
  • MTech/B.Tech Environmental Sciences, Biotechnology/Bio-sciences or equivalent or
  • MCA/M.Tech./B.Tech. in Computer Sciences from a recognised university with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree and Three years of research/work experience in the relevant field.

Desirable Qualifications/Experience:

  • PhD. in any of the above subjects
  • Field experience including onboard fishing boats / Research Vessels
  • Sound knowledge on estuarine, coastal and oceanic processes related to physical, biogeochemical, biological sciences including planktonology, microbiology, fishery oceanography, ecology, biodiversity, etc.
  • Experience in laboratory analysis using sophisticated equipments, taxonomy, molecular genomic techniques, modern data processing tools, writing scientific papers in peer reviewed journals.
  • Experience in computer programming for marine applications, scientific software tools such as GMT, Ferret, Matlab, etc.

Project Scientist ‘B’

Age limit: 35 years

Monthly emolument: approx.Rs.47000/-

Essential Qualification:

  • MSc. in any Natural Science/Earth Sciences/ Oceanography/ Marine Sciences/Fisheries/ or any branch of Physics, Chemistry and Biology or equivalent or
  • MTech/B.Tech Environmental Sciences, Biotechnology/Bio-sciences or equivalent or
  • MCA/M.Tech./B.Tech. in Computer Sciences from a recognized university with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree

Essential Qualification:

  • Sc. in any Natural Science/ Earth Sciences/ Oceanography or equivalent from a recognized university with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree.
  • Adequate knowledge in the subject area and interest in undertaking field works onboard fishing boats/research vessels.
  • Good knowledge on the operation of various field and laboratory equipments, marine processes related to above mentioned subjects.
