Overview

EHRI announces a special call for the first Conny Kristel Fellowship. EHRI is offering a fellowship of three (03) weeks at NIOD Institute for War, Holocaust and Genocide Studies in Amsterdam to honor the memory and legacy of Dr. Conny Kristel, former EHRI project director and senior researcher at the NIOD, who sadly passed away on 6 October 2018.

The first Conny Kristel Fellow will be offered three (03) weeks of access to the impressive collections of the NIOD Institute for War, Holocaust and Genocide Studies in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, including a stipend for housing and living expenses as well as travel to and from the institute.

Funding: The Fellowship is funded by the European Union (EU)

Note: It is not possible to apply for the Conny Kristel Fellowship if the candidate works in the Netherlands.

Requirements / ELIGIBILITY

  1. Open to applicants working at institutions established in member (the EU-28) and associate states.
  2. Participation by Fellows working at institutions in third countries is limited to 20% of the total amount of units of access provided by EHRI.

BENEFITS

  1. EHRI fellowships include a monthly stipend for housing and living expenses as well as travel to and from the inviting institution.
  2. These stipends follow the practices of the inviting institution or institutions.
  3. The first Conny Kristel Fellowship will enable a fellow to exchange insights and expertise with the researchers working at the NIOD, who are leading profound work in the field of War, Holocaust and Genocide studies.
  4. This will also provide the Conny Kristel Fellow with the unique opportunity to possibly connect his or her research to projects currently being undertaken at NIOD.
