The University of Luxembourg invites applications for its Faculty of Science, Technology and Communication Doctoral candidate in computational engineering.
Duration: 14 months; fixed-term contract, renewable up to 3 years, full-time
Subject Area: Computational Engineering
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Prepare a doctoral thesis on Computational Engineering with application to the simulation of biofilm growth in collaboration with the team of Stéphane Bordas, Andreas Zilian and Paul Wilmes
- Assist the professor in his teaching activities, one to three hours per week
- Write high-quality research papers
- Present their work in leading conferences
- Contribute to the team activities in Legato team
- Foster inter-disciplinary links between the LCSB and the Institute for Computational Engineering (ICE)
Requirements:
- Applicant must hold Master’s Degree or equivalent in mathematics, physics, biology, computational methods
- A practical experience in Numerical methods in engineering, biology, mathematics, physics
- Applicant must possess excellent English language skills.
