Environmental Senior Research Scientist job USA 1527 views

NCASI is seeking Senior Research Scientist who will responsible for:

  1. Plan and execute investigative studies that involve characterization of solid, aqueous, and air samples using established analytical methods.
  2. Conduct evaluations of existing methods and Develop new methods for analytes
  3. Manage laboratory workflows, assist Lab Manager in assessing capacity utilization, and work with project managers on project prioritization
  4. Provide technical assistance to NCASI member companies and industry organizations and prepare written communications that meet the highest standards of quality
  5. Maintain records within the laboratory information management system, organize routine analytical results and ensure compliance with NCASI’s records retention policy
  6. Assist with maintenance and ensure integrity of laboratory equipment

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry or Organic Chemistry with 5 or more years professional and hands-on experience
  2. Proficient at methods development, sample preparation, instrument operation and maintenance, and data processing for substances of environmental concern using Liquid Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry/Mass Spectrometry (LC/ MS/MS) and Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS)
  3. Extremely knowledgeable and experienced with US EPA Methods
  4. Strong data analysis and statistical skills
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  1. PhD in Analytical or Organic Chemistry or related field
  2. Familiarity with forest products industry environmental issues
  3. Familiarity with pulping and papermaking process operations
