The European Research Council (ERC) is starting a Grant project titled “The socio-economic consequences of temporary employment: A comparative panel data analysis” (SECCOPA) headed by Prof. Dr. Michael Gebel. The project has 2 PhD and a Postdoc position available and applications are invited for the same.
Funding Duration: 1 April 2018 to 31 March 2023 (5 years)
Duration (PhD and Postdoc): initially for 3 years; possible extension of up to 2 years
Starting date: preferably 1 April 2018
Qualifications and requirements:
For PhD position:
- Applicant must hold Master degree in Sociology, Economics, Psychology and Political Science or a related Social Science discipline (should be obtained before the start of the project)
For Postdoctoral position:
- Applicant must hold Doctoral degree in Sociology, Economics, Psychology and Political Science or a related Social Science discipline (should be obtained before the start of the project). Applicant must have publications in peer-reviewed journals on topics related to the field
- Applicant must demonstrate strong interest and/or experiences in one or more of the following fields: life course, social inequality/stratification, labor market, well-being, poverty, and international comparative and/or social policy research.
- Applicant must have strong methodological skills in quantitative data analysis, preferably experiences in panel data analysis and/or multilevel analysis of comparative micro data; international comparative research using EU-SILC and national panel data from Australia, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, South Korea and Japan (expertise on one or more of the countries is especially honored)
- Applicant must possess excellent command of English (spoken and written); German language skills are not required
