PhD Research Fellowship Faculty of Law, Scandinavian Institute of Maritime Law
A PhD research position is available to conduct research as part of the University of Oslo Arctic Programs and the Faculty of Law Artic Program called Cold Pursuit.
The research is on the law of the sea & applicant is expected to submit a research plan for that purpose. The detailed focus areas of the faculty are the legitimate possibilities of states applying and enforcing their policies in various parts of the Arctic. The research should possibly be designed to engage researchers from different disciplines such as the social sciences, economics, anthropology, or the natural sciences.
The scholarship is for a time of up to 4 yrs, with academic comprises 25% of the workload, or for 3 yrs without any teaching responsibilities. The teaching duties need that the candidate be able to fulfill the current teaching requirement of the faculty. The objective of this scholarship is research training which will help in successful completeion of doctoral degree. The selected candidates will automatically be admitted to the faculty’s PhD program.
Qualifications:
- The applicant must hold a Norwegian master’s grade in law or a law degree at the same level.
- The applicant must have outstanding grades.
- The project language is English, and candidates should have an excellent command of English, written and spoken.
- Short-listed applicants will be asked for an personal interview with the University of Oslo.
