About the position:

  1. You will working with Dr Kate Absalom, Profs Galina Velikova, Geoff Hall and Adam Glaser on a Macmillan Cancer Support funded research grant, The Comprehensive Patient Records for Cancer Outcomes (CPR) and on a project evaluating the use of an innovative online symptom monitoring system for women receiving oral treatments for metastatic breast cancer.
  2. The CPR project focuses on the impact of co-morbidity at cancer diagnosis and the development of late effects following cancer treatment, to better understand the true costs of cancer to both the health service and the patient.
  3. The work will additionally entail developing the CPR dataset, including Patient-reported outcome measurement (PROMS), for use within the HDR-UK Data Can programme of work. You will oversee the delivery of the research in metastatic breast cancer engaging with the key project stakeholders (including patients and oncology staff), organise progress meetings, produce reports and publications

Eligibility Criteria:

  • You will be an enthusiastic, talented and motivated early career researcher.
  • You will have a first degree and PhD, or be close to completion, in psychology, health sciences with a strong background in quantitative and qualitative research methods with experience of collecting patient reported outcome data
  • You will work closely, interactively and collaboratively with a research team in an interdisciplinary setting, so you will need excellent communication skills, the ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
